A: A Franchise is permission granted by a manufacturer to a distributor or retailer to sell their products. Franchise companies are present everywhere in our daily lives.

Q: What's an example of a Franchise Company?
A: A typical example is McDonald's.

Q: What is a Franchiser?
A: A Franchiser is a distributor or retailer that holds a Franchise.

Q: What are the Franchise Companies in Stock Rush?
A: The game contains four Franchise Companies: Edible Industries [Groceries]; FunToys Corporation [Toys]; Dress For Success Corporation [Clothes]; and Computech Incorporated [Gear].

Q: Do I have to buy the listed Products when I land on a Franchise space?
A: Yes. You must buy the listed Products and pay the Franchiser [owner] the cost, which is 100 x Roll. When you buy Toys, Clothes, or Gear you receive ONE blue token. No product token is provided for Groceries.

Q: How do I buy a Franchise?
A: A Franchise Title may be purchased from the Bank only when you land on the corresponding Franchise space [you must pay for it in cash].

Q: What happens when I buy a Franchise?
A: When you buy a Franchise you receive a Franchise Title Card indicating that you are the Franchiser [owner].

Q: What is a Franchise Title Card?
A: A Franchise Title Card contains important information about the company. In particular, the value of the Franchise is equal to a certain number of shares of the parent company. Consequently, the value of the Franchise is dependent upon the Stock price of the parent company [A, B, C, or D]. As a result, the Franchise Title may be traded just like Stocks.

Q: How do I sell my Consumer Products?
A: The Consumer Products you purchase and accumulate [Tokens] may be sold when you land on Garage Sale. They can also be sold to another player for a negotiable price. You may also sell them to the Bank for $100 each.

Q: How do I sell a Franchise?
A: A Franchise Title may be sold to the Bank when you land on any Trade space or the corresponding Franchise space.

Q: Can I trade a Franchise with another player?
A: Yes. You may trade a Franchise with another player at anytime. However, etiquette suggests you do so on your turn or between turns.

Q: What happens if I need to sell a Franchise to raise cash for a payment and I am not on a Trade space or the corresponding Franchise space?
A: You must use the same rules as you would for Trading Stocks. You may try selling to another player and negotiate for the best price. If no other player is willing to buy your Franchise then you must sell it to the Bank at the current Market Price and pay the Bank a flat Commission of $1,000.

Q: Are the Product Tokens always held by the Bank?
A: Yes. The Product Tokens are always held by the Bank, regardless of who owns the Franchise.

Q: What happens when another player lands on my Franchise?
A: The player must buy the listed Products and pay you 100 x Roll. In return, the player receives ONE blue token from the Bank.

Q: What's an example of a player landing on a Franchise space and buying the listed Products from the Bank?
A: Suppose Chris lands on FunToys and the Franchiser is the Bank. Now, suppose he rolls a 9. He must buy Toys and pay the Bank $900 [100 x 9]. In return, Chris receives ONE Product Token from the Bank.

Q: What's an example of a player landing on a Franchise space and buying the listed Products from another player?
A: Suppose Chris lands on FunToys and the Franchiser is Mary. Now, suppose he rolls a 9. He must buy Toys and pay Mary $900 [100 x 9]. In return, Chris receives ONE Product Token from the Bank.

Q: What's an example of a player landing on a Franchise space and buying the Franchise before the Parent Company splits?
A: Suppose Christine lands on Dress For Success. The parent company is Carnelian Corporation [C]. Now, suppose Carnelian is currently trading at $15 per share and did not split. Since the value of Dress For Success before the split is equal to 1,000 shares of [C], she must pay the Bank $15,000 in cash [1,000 x $15]. In return, Christine receives the Franchise Title Card of Dress For Success Corporation.

Q: What's an example of a player landing on a Franchise space and buying the Franchise after the Parent Company splits?
A: Suppose in the example above, the Parent Company Carnelian [C] is currently trading at $15 per share after a Stock Split. In this event, Christine must pay the Bank $30,000 in cash [2,000 x $15].
